Why MPViewer exists

Built from a workflow I refused to give up.

For years, FastStone Image Viewer was the tool I reached for on Windows whenever I needed to move through a folder of photographs quickly.

After switching to macOS, I searched for something with the same immediacy: fast folder browsing, effortless fullscreen inspection, practical metadata and controls that stay out of the way. I couldn't find the replacement I wanted, so I started building it.

MPViewer is that project—a native Mac image viewer shaped by a real photographer's workflow, released as open source and built to keep getting better.

— Mladen Popović, creator of MPViewer
